What's My Name?: Over 3000 African Names in Shona, Ndebele, Setswana & Kalanga [Print Replica] Kindle Edition
A name is an individual's personal brand and identity - everyone should know what their name means!
African names are dynamic by nature and generally describe the moods, events and circumstances surrounding one's conception or birth. There are thousands of African languages spoken in and around the continent of Africa.
What's My Name? is the first book of names written in four African languages spoken in parts of Zimbabwe, Botswana and South Africa. The collection includes meanings of over 3,000 names in the languages of: Shona, Ndebele, Setswana and Kalanga.
The purpose of the book is two-fold: firstly to help parents select a suitable name for their baby from any of the four languages contained. Secondly, as more children of African origin are born and raised in different countries around the world, they often lose touch with the language of their roots and fail to know or understand the meaning of their own name. They can use this book as a simple reference tool to help them learn about their names and of others around them.
What's My Name uses a simple alphabetical listing format under each language and includes abbreviations, variants and useful tips on selecting the ideal baby name. The use of colourful images make it fun and easy for readers of all ages and walks of life to enjoy.
The author, Eve-Tendai (Chamoto) Mpofu, is the founder and CEO of MaDube Books and has collected thousands of names in several languages spoken in Africa. The Zimbabwean-born mother of three, resides in Botswana and has assisted numerous parents to name their babies. Eve-Tendai holds degrees in Strategic Management (MSc) University of Derby and International Accounting & Finance (Hons) University of Brighton (UK).

How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
