ZPC Kariba lose at new base as Dynamos held to a goaless draw by Tsholotsho

Castle Lager Premier Soccer League week was full of surprising results as Dynamos shared the spoils with impressive debutants Tsholotsho FC at Rufaro Stadium and ZPC Kariba lose at new base to inform FC Platinum.

Dynamos kicked off on a high note as they started the match as the more offensive side, but they failed to breach the visitors’ well organised defence as the Glamour boys’ strike force was very wasteful.

In the second half the visitors kept Dynamos goalie Tatenda Muvhuruva on his toes as he was forced to make some fine saves after some ferocious attempts from Nixon Gama and Mclive Phiri who kept on breaching the Glamour boys’ defence.

The goalless stalemate, however kept Dynamos in third place on the table and they failed to close the gap on the log leaders Chicken Inn who lost their first match of the season to Hwange on Saturday.

Under-fire Dynamos gaffer David ‘Yogi’ Mandigora was not pleased with his team’s performance at home and he is hoping to improve in the future.

“Our team is not playing well at home and the fans have every reason to be angry and ever since I got this job, I know that there was always pressure,” revealed Mandigora.

Tsholotsho FC coach Lizwe Sweswe was satisfied with the results as he hailed his charges for the heroic effort against the reigning champions.

“The result was good for us although I had wanted three points here. Dynamos are a good side and they have a number of experienced players,” said Sweswe.

New boys Flame Lily travelled to Gweru to face another army-based side Chapungu and they were stunned 1-0 at Ascot Stadium, whilst Buffalos registered their first win of the season when they dismissed Harare City 2-1 at Sakubva Stadium.

ZPC Kariba failed to utilise their newly found base Nyamhunga Stadium as they were walloped 3-0 by in-form FC Platinum on Saturday. ZPC Kariba also failed to impress their Kariba fans who have been patiently waiting to watch their team play at home since they were promoted into the top-fight league.

Log leaders Chicken Inn registered their first defeat of the season when they lose 1-0 to Hwange at the Colliery Stadium and now they are two points away from Chapungu.

The action continued on Sunday as Highlanders registered a win home against struggling new comers Whawha. Bosso’s win have eased the pressure that was mounting on their coach Bongani Mafu after losing the previous match at home.
