Infighting in Zimbabwe People First have reached a new high with Midlands Provincial Executive becoming the latest group to ditch Joice Mujuru accusing her of being tribal and exhibiting dictatorial tendencies.
Addressing journalists in Gweru Midlands Provincial executive dissociated itself from Joyce Mujuru pledging loyalty to the party’s founding fathers led by Didymus Mutasa and Rugare Gumbo.
Tanaka Manyadza, ZimPF National Youth Secretary for International Relations said three provinces were excluded from Dr Mujuru’s press conference squarely on tribal grounds.
“There are also tribal issues at play, you find that during her press conference Midlands and Masvingo were not invited and in Manicaland they only chose a few individuals.
“There is a secret will to say anyone who is not Zezuru cannot hold any major position of influence.
“There is actually a secret bill which we all know which has been caucused to say anyone who is a Karanga, a Manica or Ndebele should not be afforded an opportunity to get a powerful political post.
“She is very tribal and as a Province that’s one of the issues we are dissociating ourselves with her,” he said.
Manyadza also smeared mud at Mujuru accusing her of arrogance in terms of accepting and apologizing for her role in the Chiadzwa diamonds killings and Gukurahundi massacres.
“We had a leader that when she is asked about the atrocities associated with Chiadzwa and Gukuranhundi she totally denies some of the things she was part of instead of her coming out in the open and apologizing to the people, and these are some of the disagreements we have always had,” he said.
Wilson Svova the Midlands ZimPF Chairperson officially announced that the province is dissociating itself from Dr. Mujuru and her associates.
The press briefing was attended by Arthur Chikerema, ZimPF National Steering Committee member who said Mujuru is a very clownish and dull leader who needs extensive orientation to chair simple meetings.
Other provincial executive members present include Midlands Provincial Youth Chairperson Ngonidzashe Koke and Freedom Fighter’s National Secretary for Security Fanuel Magasa.
