Zimbabwean busted for drug trafficking at Kotoka International Airport

Officials of the Narcotics Control Board (NACOB) have arrested a Zimbabwean woman for trafficking narcotics at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) in Accra.

A statement released by KIA reveals 30-year-old Cynthia Lichonja was picked-up by operatives of the NACOB upon arrival on Ethiopian Air flight ET 921 after conducting a thorough search on her.

The officials were prompted upon suspicions that the suspect had kept the hard drugs in her luggage.

The suspect who was caught with 7 parcels of brownish narcotic substance told investigators the suitcase was handed to her by one Patience to be delivered to another person in Ghana.

According to her, her plane ticket was purchased by Patience with instructions that she delivers the suitcase the unknown person.
