A local expo and event management company, Zim Afro is set to host a two day Parenting, Babies and Kids expo which is aimed at providing progressive ideas to the 21st century parents in how to bring up their children.
Zim Afro which is known for hosting the annual Medical and Health Expo have will this time target the family set up.
In an Interview with Zim Afro Director, Shepherd Chakanza stated that this expo which is set for the 16th and 17th of December at Longcheng Plaza is different and unique to Zimbabwe.
“This expo is the first of this kind and is unique to Zimbabwe, we noted that most events were appealing to people of the older generation therefore we thought of coming up with something appealing to the family set up,
“The main aim of the expo is to bring the family together and educate parents on how to raise and interact with their children and know the right products for their children,
“It is the 21st century and parents and children need to know how to handle situations the 21st century way,” said Chakanza.
The expo is targeting the family thus parents and children and multiple activities will be taking place on the day.
“When it comes to the family set up there are a lot of issues to look into for example schooling, certain diseases, and parenting as a skill, parents are going to taught on how to manage finances too,
“We are targeting children between the ages of day old-13 years and there will be multiple activities, talent shows, games, dancing, fun park and the National Museum of Zimbabwe will be there exhibiting for the kids,
“Entry will be free but there will be a fee that kids have to pay that will cover all activities and food stuffs,” added Chakanza.
According to the organizers, an expert on parenting will be holding the education sessions and giving expert advice on how to raise children the right way.
