ZIFA Talks Tough On PSL Clubs

Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has come hard on Castle Larger Premier Soccer League (PSL) clubs saying it will not allow any unlicensed players to feature in the second week of the championship.

In statement released on Monday, the football mother body said it allowed some teams to use players without licenses due to the delay in the processing of players’ licenses last week.

However, ZIFA reiterated that it had finished the process and no player would feature for their club without licenses.

“In the opening games of the 2017 Premier Soccer League season, we allowed some teams to play without licences since the licensing process was still in progress.

“Players without licences will not be allowed to play in the second round of fixtures because the Zimbabwe Football Association has issued licences to all registered and eligible players,” said ZIFA.

Meanwhile, the Phillip Chiyangwa led board has also advised that the CAF A coaching license is a prerequisite for PSL coaches and it will not allow anyone who is not in possession of the said qualification to superintend the premier soccer league teams.

“We also would like to reiterate that no unqualified coaches are allowed to sit on the bench and that CAF A licences are still a prerequisite,” ZIFA said.
