Newly appointed Zimbabwe Electoral Commission, (ZEC) chairperson, Priscilla Chigumba says her mandate is to deliver free and fair elections

Speaking after being sworn in at State House,, Chief  Justice Chigumba said she is aware of the concerns, especially from the opposition front, to deliver non-contentious elections in the 2018 general polls slated for midyear.

“We will look into the concerns which are being raised by opposition parties towards elections, which include delivering credible polls and it is upon us as ZEC to deliver free and fair elections,” said Chief Justice Chigumba.

“One thing i am sure of is that once i get in office ,i have to offer free and fair elections, my mandate is to administer the law, to apply the law which exists in this point in time,” added Chigumba.
