The ZanuPF Youth League says it is saddened by the loss of former Prime Minster and leader of the Movement for Democratic Change, Morgan Tsvangirai , who passed on in South Africa after succumbing to cancer of the colon tonight.
The ruling party’s Vice Chairperson ,Lewis Matutu told 263Chat that the country has lost a gallant fighter who gave hope to millions of Zimbabweans.
“We saddened and sorry as a party that we have lost one of our sons who fought for the goodwill of the people. He was a man who gave people who supported him hope.
“It does not matter which political background that one is from, we all acknowledge the roll played by Tsvangirai in the country especially during his time as the Prime Minister of the country.
“We have lost a very good man and a constituency that will never be replace. We say Rest In Peace to Save,” said Matutu.
Tsvangirai had been in and out of hospital after revealing to the world that he was diagnosed with cancer in 2016.
Morgan Tsvangirai was born on March 10, 1952 in Gutu, Zimbabwe.
He served as Prime Minister in a coalition government from 2009 to 2013.
Meanwhile, mourners are gathered at his Highlands home and the family will issue an official statement tomorrow after requesting privacy.
