Zanu PF will on Friday next week shut down Mutare to force residents to attend President Robert Mugabe’s rally at Sakubva Stadium.
Zanu PF Manicaland Provincial Chairperson, Mubuso Chinguno said businesses should close operations to allow their workers to attend Mugabe’s youth rally.
“Please be advised that Friday 16 June 2017 will be a great day for Mutare. The President and First Secretary (of Zanu PF) will be at Sakubva Stadium starting 08:00hrs to 16:00hrs.
“We urge all businesses to support and respect the President by sending their workforce to the interface with the President. All school heads MUST make sure that they release their students, staff and buses for this event.
Buses will pick up people from all locations in and around Mutare,”
“Vendors make sure you comply with your chairpersons,” said Chinguno in a message circulating.
There has been a public outcry over the presence of school children at political party gatherings especially Zanu PF events.
President Mugabe is set to tour all the country’s ten provinces where he will be expected to rally party youths ahead of the 2018 elections.
