Zanu PF youths seize ambassador’s farm

ZANU PF youths are said to have  seized a farm belonging to Ambassador  Aggripah Mutambara.
By Philemon Jambaya
Scores of Zanu PF youths are reported to have mobbed Mutambara’s Sengeri farm, which is about 7 kilometres away from Bindura. The youths argue that he  (Mutambara) should vacate the farm because he crossed over to the newly formed political party, Zimbabwe People First which is led by former Vice-President Joice Mujuru.
Speaking to 263Chat  Ambassador Mutambara claimed that the youths were sent  to his farm by  Saviour Kasukuwere who is the ZANU PF Political Commissar.
“The group of youths  which had close to 50 members alleged  that they were sent by Kasukuwere to take over my farm on the basis that i longer belong to ZANU PF”, said Ambassador Mutambara.
Ambassador Mutambara held various positions in the government including being member of general staff, instructor in guerrilla tactics, director of politics in ZANLA, operations commander and chief representative of ZANU in Ethiopia.
Political analyst Ernest Mudzengi said that this case is aimed at intimidating opposition members and this particular case gives a bad image to the land reform programme which  seeks to empower Zimbabweans.
Zimbabwe experienced a violent land reform process in the new millennium which was led by war veterans who made sure that white farmers evacuate farms without any compensation.
It is being reported that former ZANU PF members who  crossed over to the new political outfit, ZPF  are set to lose their farms.
Ambassador Mutambara is currently serving as the External affairs committee member in  Zimbabwe People’s First.
Efforts to speak to Honourable Kasukuwere were fruitless as his mobile phone went unanswered and was later switched off.
Efforts were also made to talk to police spokesperson, Commissioner Charity Charamba.
