A Zanu PF linked youth group has vowed to stand with the axed vice President, Emmerson Mnangagwa saying he is a victim of a calculated agenda to pave way for Grace Mugabe’s elevation to the post of vice presidency.
Addressing a press conference in Harare on Tuesday, Children of War Veterans and Ex-detainees chairman Inno Mhlanga said Mnangagwa did not commit any crime.
“ED has done nothing wrong to be honest. It is just that people to set their agenda of removing the old man from the post by causing all this, watch and see, there shall be a turn of events during the congress.
“Everyone does not like Mugabe even her wife Grace thats why they are trying to push an agenda of removing him,” said Mhlanga.
Meanwhile ZYAP chairman, Tonderai Chidawa urged the remaining senior ZANU PF officials to resign enmasse and leave Mugabe and his wife alone.
“Aka Kamurume kanonzi Mugabe kakangwarisa, apedza vose masenior war vets, acharova Jonathan Moyo and Kasukuwere to pave way for Grace that’s why my colleague said there shall be a turn of events.
“We say no to the tribalism and Mugabe dynasty, we urge all the remaining senior ZANU PF officials which is no longer a Patriotic Front to resign EN-MASSE.
“Mugabe must be left in the cold with his CIA agents, this fight is for the people, therefore we encourage the masses to register in numbers to vote Mugabe, his MPs and counselors out of office come 2018,” he said.
Chidawa vowed to stand by the former vice President, Mnangagwa saying his long and illustrious contribution to Zimbabwe cannot be wished away.
“We shall stand by ED Mnangagwa for his long and illustrious contribution which can not be wished as it is concretely evident in history spanning more than 50 years.
“We are more than ready to defend the constitution even lose blood for the real freedom which is about to come.
“The darkest hour before dawn, a very bright future with EDM as the Head of State.
“Kangoma karirisi kave pedyo nekubvaruka zvino aka kabvaruka takubvisa zvipikiri zvacho togadzira ngoma itsva,”he said.
