Winky D Ponders 2023 Parly Contest

Zimdancehall maestro, Winky D born Wallace Chirumiko says rampant corruption and poor water sanitation services in the country have impelled him to contemplate taking matters into his own hands and run for a parliamentary seat in the 2023 election.

The 35-year-old was speaking during his performance over the weekend at Harare gardens where he said if he is to run for parliament candidacy in 2023, it will be for his wish to deliver better services to citizens, not selfish political aspirations.

“If I say I don’t like corrupt activities, is that being political? If I say I want clean tap water in my ghetto, is that politics?” asked the Gombwe hit-maker to a loud roar of response from his legion of fans saying, “no.”

“Anyway, now that I did not contest in this year’s election and with our demands failing to be addressed, should I take matters into my own hands and contest during 2023 elections?” he asked again to a loud roar of approval.

“But, will you vote for me?” he asked again before chanting “Ndoenda Mberi.”

Winky D has been making headlines following the release of “Kasong Kejecha” and “Parliament,” songs that have undertones which endorse Movement for Democratic Change leader, Nelson Chamisa.

This is despite his alleged open counsel to Jah Prayzah in “Dzemudanga” where he told the “Watora Mari” hitmaker to stay away from politics and abstain from meddling in political matters.
