This weekend history was made when the king of Zimdancehall, Winky D launched his 11th album , which coincided with his birthday celebrations at the Harare International Conference Center (HICC) ,becoming the first ZimDancehall artist to fill the 5000 seater auditorium.
With his life possibly depending on his new offering , as many thought he was past his prime, the Big-man, had plenty of surprises for the fans who were brave enough to part with their $15 dollars.
As has become the norm, the Gafa President did not disappoint as he launched the album in style.
He was ably supported by Any Muridzo, Jah Signal ,Killer T, Buffalo Soldier and the ever energetic, Kinnah, who threatened to steal the show from the man of the day, with his well polished act.
The talking point from the launch was the most unlikely collaboration with Vabati Va Jehova ,on a song which has become an instant hit, Dzika Ngirozi.
Winky D, dressed in a white garment with his silky dreadlocks , stole the show at his own show as he left thousands of his fans clamoring for more.
If only the night could be extended, party goers would have parted till Saturday afternoon.
Well done to Winky for leaving a lasting impression and we wish you many more Gafa.
