Weekend Entertainment Review With Munashe Chokodza

The last weekend of the month of love February had a lot of activity in Harare on Friday and Saturday with Sunday a bit quite. Top acts such as Jah Prayzah, Alick Macheso had gigs in town while the South African star, Winnie Khumalo of the Muteuro hit maker was in the country for a show at The Venue in Harare.

The Venue

The South African female star, Winne Khumalo invaded The Venue on Friday night. She gave them real value for money as she never disappointed throughout her act.  Khumalo shared stage with the fast rising star Brain K.

The show was live on ZiFM and much to the excitement of music lovers who had thronged The Venue for her much publicized show, Khumalo performed Muteuro, one song that made waves last year in 2017.

Las Vegas

Jah Prayzah had a show at Las Vegas alongside the veteran vocalist Progress Chipfumo. The two last had a joint show a long time ago and it was refreshing for their fans to see them together again.

Working with international artist seems to be working to Jah Prayzah’s advantage because his fan base is growing as well as his performance on stage.

Unplugged

The first edition of the classical monthly festival dubbed Unplugged took place on Saturday at Pomona Golf Club. Unplugged has gained a reputation of being flawless and the Saturday event was indifferent as various artists billed to perform did not disappoint.

The veteran RnB musician, Plaxedes Wenyika and Brian K among others made sure those who parted with their hard earned money enjoyed it to the maximum as they churned out hit after hit in a unique style resembling of a top notch show of Unplugged’s magnitude.

Zaka Jerera

The Afro fusion artist, Andy Muridzo was in Zaka over the weekend where he got an opportunity to sample tracks from his upcoming album which is going to be released in April.

Joy Centre

Muridzo is joining a group of bad boys who are always late for shows as he disappointed his fans when he arrived at Joy Centre late much to the disappointment of people who had been waiting for his act. He was rather lucky that it was not in Banket where he ran for dear life as fans bayed for his blood- for arriving late again.
