2018 is already rolling albeit with new expectations especially from those artists did not release any new projects in 2017. The Chimbetu brothers inclusive of Sulumani and forgotten Tryson quickly comes to mind, even others like Alick Macheso and many sungura musicians knows that the showbiz arena is already looking forward to their new albums. Zimdancehall artists who have made its a culture to release a catalog of singles before full albums would be excused because perhaps they are looking for hot topics to give them a kick into the year.

While many musicians are recuperating from the overdose of the festive season, the likes of Mbeu, Garry Tight, Andy Muridzo and Carlos Green have already laid their first hands into the year and are already cruising.

Barely the second week into the new year, the showbiz arena, those who had enough to spare had a treat of their lifetime at Dandaro Inn, Time and Jazz Cafe as well as Veritas Club among others.

Dandaro Inn

The promising Mbeu who is trying to peeve his way into the music industry hosted a show at Dandaro Inn.

The show was classic and only confirmed the young Mbeu as a new breed of artists ready to explode in 2018.

Time & Jazz Cafe

Gary Tight has already made a name for himself since his grant entry on the musical scene. Froget about him being Willom Tight’s son, he is a man on his own, if his performance at Time and Jazz on Friday is anything to talk about. The young crooner has mastered his art and he has watched his stars shining.

Veritus Club

The controversial contemporary musician, Andy Muridzo and Carlos Green shared stage at the Westly night Club Veritus. The show attracted many of their fans although the venue appeared too small for such a gig. Could this prove the young musician is finding the going tough in the music industry. Andy could be one of the people really in need of a new album to rekindle his waning fortunes. His last album did fairly well but could not stand the momentum that came with his teacher-Jah Prayzah’s polished work. The young man needs to put a lot of hardwork in his work to excel and this appears to be the missing link at the moment.

Ndudzo Chegutu

Veteran artist, Kiren Zulu of the Mazai aDhimba fame was at Ndudzo Farm in Chegutu where he took time to serenade his fans while grooming Chegutu artists enjoy country music.
