Waverley Blankets Managing Director Aron Vico has dismissed allegations by a local online media that he approached the High Court seeking to stop one Lakshmikanth Boddapati from testifying in an ongoing criminal trial in which Amanda Berkowitz is facing charges of perjury.
In a statement, Vico said he was not involved in the High Court challenge filed by Boddapati who is seeking to block Amanda Cohen from using him as a defence witness.
“The correct position is that the aforesaid Court Application was instituted by Lakshmikanth Boddapati on the basis that he does not wish to testify as a defense witness for Amanda Cohen because his evidence is adverse to Amanda Cohen’s defense.
“Contrary to the allegation that I have approached the High Court as aforesaid, I am not involved in the Court Application that has been filed in the High Court of Zimbabwe as alleged,” said Vico.
He dismissed the article and media published by the online publisher as baseless and malicious, especially allegations that he is fraudster saying the claims are meant to tarnish his image while announcing that he is contemplating taking legal action against publications that carried the story.
“The allegation that I am a fraudster are baseless and malicious and are simply aimed at tarnishing my image, I reserve my right to initiate both civil and criminal litigation against the authors of the offending article.” added Vico who also runs Waverley Plastics.
