Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWVA) has called for an inclusive transitional government to help the country address the current economic impasse obtaining in the country.

Addressing a press conference in Harare on Wednesday, War Veterans Secretary General, Victor Matemadanda said the current economic situation obtaining in the country cannot be solved by a single individual or political party hence the need for all political movements to come together.

“I say, all political parties to embrace this. They should support this move because we anticipate a situation after this where there will be inclusivity because no one person, no one political party can solve our problems.

“We want political convergence, we do not want chi-ndinism (individualism), we want people who are prepared to work together,” said Matemadanda.

“The Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association recognizes that all political parties in Zimbabwe recognize, uphold and respect the role played by war veterans, war collaborators and war detainees and therefore we do not have reasons to have them as enemies, so when we say we want to have normalcy in the running of this country, we also want to formulate good and proper running of political parties in the forthcoming elections,” added Matemadanda.

He insisted that the army did not take over power, saying their action was only aimed at instituting a process of weeding out criminal elements who were destabilizing the country, singling out Zanu PF Secretary for Youth Affairs saying the youth wing of the party had grown too powerful than the main wing.
