Once again, violence reared its ugly head when Dynamos supporters turned against their last season saviour Lloyd “Mablanyo” Chigowe demanding his resignation after a poor show at Rufaro.
DeMbare lost 1-0 to a determined Herentials outfit.
Armed police details had to intervene to quill the ensuing situation as fuming supporters bayed for Mablanyo’s blood.
An 86th minute goal by Juan Mutudza sealed the three precious points for Herentials. DeMbare had turned on the heat in the second half, but failed to utelize all the chances they created into goals, leaving Herentials to punish them with four minutes to full time.
Speaking to journalists after the match, Dynamos assistant coach, Murape Murape concurred that the team had played well in the second half, but mother luck was just not on their side.
“We played well, but we could not utilize the chances that came our way. As for those demanding for our resignation, kana wapinda basa chasara kubuda,” said a visibly disgusted Murape.
He added, “Most of the players we have lack the Dynamos character. I still have confidence that we will improve.”
