Venture into small grains, Perence Shiri tells Farmers

Minister of Lands, Agriculture and Rural Resettlement , Retired Air Chief Marshall Perence Shiri has encouraged farmers to grow small grains in a bid to boost the country’s food security despite many realizing a good maize harvest in the past two seasons.

Small grains like wheat, rapoko, sorghum and barley are limited in supply prompting the nation’s food processors to import wheat from neighboring countries like Zambia and South Africa.
