as Zim joins the global stage of Performing Arts
US Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Mr Harry Thomas Jr pledged to assist Zimbabwean artists in the World Championship Of Performing Arts (WCOPA) to be held in the United States of America, later this year.
Ambassador Thomas said he was optimistic happy that Zimbabwe is finally being laid on the global map of performing arts.
“The US embassy is very happy to work together with Zimbabwe and we will help competitors who will participate in WCOPA” said Ambassador Thomas.
Co-Founder and National Director for Zimbabwe Championship Of Performng Arts (ZICOPA), a vehicle of WCOPA responsible for the management and execution of the Zimbabwean championships, Nyarayi Tandy said ZICOPA is identify young talent and aiding them gain global recognition .
“This programme aims to help young talents and putting them on the global platform,” she said.
She also added that as a mother she will help Zimbabwean kids to identify their talents despite their race and background.
Zimbabwe’s renowned artist, who is also the Brand Ambassador of ZICOPA, Albert Nyathi said this competition will give the Zimbabwean performers a platform to excel and to achieve international recognition for their talents.
“This competition will give the Zimbabweans a platform to excel and to achieve national and international recognition for their talents.
“We believe that by nurturing future talents, wherever it is, ZICOPA will play a part in ensuring that our global pre-eminence continues through future generations,”he said
ZICOPA is however seeking for the artists who are willing to be part of the World Championship Of Performing Arts with auditions scheduled in Zimbabwe, South Africa and United Kingdom.
The auditions, which will be held in the actors, dancers, singers, instrumentalists and models categories will be open to all Zimbabwean nationals residing in Zimbabwe or in another country.
