A young musician who is also a producer has released a single which is poised to hog the gospel music entertainment.
Tawanda Tehillah Midzi who works with revered producer MacDonald Chidavaenzi at Eternity Studios speaks on ‘Ndinovimba Nemi’ which is a tale of some events in life which were tumultuous not until God intervened.
“Ndovimba Nemi, it’s a song that was revealed to me by the holy spirit who is my number 1 inspiration.
“After going through a rough patch in my life that’s when I meditated on this song where the holy Spirit taught me to put my trust in God and know that he is God and he has better plan for me though at that it looked like the situation was hopeless,” poured out the 24-year-old Midzi.
The soothing single has all the ingredients of making it on the gospel music scene as the deep lyrics by the young musician which were sung in English and the two dominant vernacular languages Shona and Ndebele languages are accompanied by neatly arranged instrumentals.
According to the Kuwadzana –raised artiste, he co-produced the single with Michael Takudzwa Manyika.
The former Allan Wilson High student says it was at this school that he started his musical career being a member of an Acapella group.
Midzi is not new in the music industry as he recorded his debut album ‘Testimony’ a few years ago which had songs like Neshoko and Nyengetera and besides the new single is also currently working on another album ‘My Hope’ early next year.
The versatile musician has worked with some big gospel artistes as a producer or instrumentalist and these include Melissa, Pastor Josh Kays, Minister Kuda Mandizvidza, Eliot Makuyana and Emelda Vhiriri just to mention but a few.
Tawanda is also part of the praise and worship team at the Apostle Simbarashe Marechera-led House of Dunamis Revival Ministries.
“ I aspire to be the best producer of gospel music in all the southern region of Africa and to share the stage with international recognized gospel artistes like Vashawn, McDowell and (name one more artist) so I may be able to win American gospel Stellar awards, I so believe in that,” was Tawanda’s partying shot.
He adds to the list of young gospel musicians who are serenading gospel music fans in Zimbabwe that include Lifechanging Nechavava whose song Ichava Nhoroondo is dominating the airwaves together with Wencilus Makungisa popularly known as Mupostori Wency’s Nguva yeKutenda.
