South African RnB/ Pop vocalist Shekhinah is set to bring the house down at the post winter Unplugged concert set for the 25th of August 2018 at a venue yet to be announced.
The monthly music festival, last held in May will be back this month with the South African Songtress expected in the country for her first ever show.
Speaking to 263Chat, Unplugged Communications Manager Chiedza Danha expressed the organizers’ excitement to be hosting the ‘suited’ hit-maker.
“As organizers we are certified Shekhinah fans so this is an exciting moment for us. We’ve followed Shekhinah’s career since her first appearance on idols and fell in love with her sultry sound. When we asked audiences about non Zim acts, her name consistently appeared top of the list. She’s the poster for breakthrough African artists. And thankfully the music fraternity has recognized her as a true force,
“Interestingly, many males we’ve surveyed are equally excited. The quality of music is uniting. As an example one may assume Adele is more appealing to women but how many men vibe with her lyrics? Loads! That’s the thing about music, in the comfort of your own space you love what you love and if the message in music is pure and relatable, people, make it female, vibe to it. Shekhinah has that quality,
“This will not be the last international act, December will also see an international act.” said Danha.
Supporting acts at the concert include Tamy Moyo, Buhle, Vision of Hope and Asaph.
Shekhinah born Shekhinah Thandi Donnell, is popularly known for her hits Suited, Please Mr and Let you know among others. She rose to fame following her exceptional perfomance at Idols South Africa.
