A typical day in the quest for cash

“Gladys, this is our third day in the bank queue, but we have not seen Melody.”

“You are right Sofia, I think she has found a way to avoid all these queues, I wish she would share the solution with us!” Gladys replied.

The two friends continue in the queue and until finally they get the days allocation. After five or so frustrating days of bank queues and small allocations they have enough cash and bills are paid.

A couple of days later they met up with Melody and immediately ask where she has been. “I only needed a small amount of cash for emergencies, so one day’s allocation was enough” said Melody. “For the rest of my payments, I now use plastic money, It has been great, no queues and lots of benefits”

Gladys and Sofia asked her why plastic money was so good and Melody surprised them by giving them a long list of reasons why she is so happy with her new method of payment. She explained “As well as avoiding the queues, plastic money has cut down on my impulse buying, I have a permanent record for each transaction and all the payments I make are safe and traceable. As well as that I can make payments over the phone or on-line, often at any time of the night or day and even anywhere in the world. Also, I feel much safer. When I was carrying cash I was always worried about being attacked by someone who wanted to steal my cash, so I feel I am better off in so many ways.”

“I’m certainly converted” said Gladys. “I have had enough of spending my life in queues”. “Me too” agreed Sophia. “I’m glad to help” said Melody, smiling.
