Former Zanu PF Mashonaland Central youth league Chairperson Godfrey Tsenengamu today opened up on the ouster of former Vice President Joice Mujuru.
Mujuru, who is now the leader of Zimbabwe People First was kicked out of Zanu PF in the run-up to December 2014 congress on a litany of charges including outright treason.
Addressing members of the media, Tsenengamu said he was part of the team that was used to boot Mujuru out of the ruling party.
“Personally I was part of “Team Mazowe crush” which was publicly led by Mrs Grace Mugabe but with its real leader being Mr Mugabe pulling strings from the background.
“It was a moment of madness as we recklessly accused fellow comrades of being Gamatox and wanting to kill Mr Mugabe, attempting to stage a party coup against Mr Mugabe, visiting Sangomas, allegedly hiring snippers, fanning factionalism, and being corruptionists.
“By looking at the seriousness of the said allegations some of which were treasonous we expected that it would at least led to the arrest of the suspects and by mid-2015 I was left asking if those allegations peddled by Mrs Mugabe were genuine and how suddenly the same accused persons had become allies and the best of her friends in the party to an extent of making overtures to readmit and reinstate them in the party and cabinet,” said Tsenengamu.

He added that he was a blind loyalist who was used to settle political scores.
“Yes I admit that I was a blind loyalist of Mr Mugabe that I could not see that I was being used by Mr Mugabe as I thought that I was defending him in the genuine cause and interest of the party which is the same way he is using others currently who think they are defending him,” he said.
While confessing to the well-orchestrated Mujuru ouster Tsenengamu narrated how President Mugabe participated in the ploy to kick Mujuru out of Zanu PF.
“My attack on former VP Joice Mujuru and the then senior leadership of the party which included Simon Khaya Moyo, Webster Shamu, Didymus Mutasa, Sydney Sekeramay, David Parirenyatwa, Nicholas Goche, the late Amos Midzi, Tendai Savanhu, Ray Kaukonde and Paddy Zhanda on Friday 15th of August at State house was a well-rehearsed piece with the president himself and we did that with him on a Wednesday the 13th of August 2014 where he encouraged us to take Mrs Mujuru and her team head on and we believed he was under genuine attack.”
He added that Kasukuwere was also the brains behind the plan to kick out several party members.
“Besides Mr Mugabe being the chief architect of the whole mess in 2014 the other person was Saviour Kasukuwere especially against Zhanda,Savanhu, Goche, Parirenyatwa and Sekeramayi.
“Kasukuwere was anointed Chairman of a committee which was to preside over the decimation of Mrs Mujuru and we would meet at the then Comoil Offices at Number 53 Selous venue in Harare,” he said.
The axed Mash PF Mashonaland Central youth league boss blasted President Mugabe for his divide and rule tactics.
“Yes I am Zanu PF despite having noted that Mr Mugabe has a continued habit of playing divisive, manipulative and arm twisting politics and being the real force behind the creation of factions in the party as a grand strategy to assist in his hold to party leadership and power without genuinely and sincerely addressing critical issues affecting the party membership.
“I have learnt that Mr Mugabe is the real force behind all the problems bedevilling the nation and the party though he pretends otherwise,” he said.
