The trial date of alleged MDC-T protesters who were arrested in July for inciting violence has been set to December 7. The accused person appeared before Harare magistrate Bianca Makwande.
They were facing charges of vandalising state property during the notorious demonstrations which rocked the capital, Harare three months ago .
The youths were protesting against police brutality under a campaign dubbed #MyZimbabwe.
On the day in question police went on rampage beating, torturing and arresting activists who demanded President Mugabe’s departure from the throne. Caught in the storm is Tinotenda Mhungu and 12 others.
The state proposed 7 December as the trial date for the accused persons .
Harare Magistrate Bianca Makwande advised the accused persons to appear for trial on 7 December 2016.
According to state papers the accused persons were among activists who set ablaze two state vehicles
