The Monkey Nuts to Launch Album at HIFA 2015

The Monkey Nuts will launch their album “Boom Bap Idiophonics” at this year’s Harare International Festival of the Arts (HIFA) and also the album will be launched internationally that week by leading UK hip hop record label, BBE.

Boom Bap Idiophonics is a collaboration of French DJ Oil and our own music song bird Hope Masike and they started recording the album back at HIFA 2013.

“It’s great that after 3 days in studio we went on to perform a sold out show at HIFA with Dj Oil and Hope. And now we get to come back with something that was essentially born out of that collaboration show,” revealed the Monkey Nuts.

The Monkey Nuts will be launching their album Boom-Bap Idiophonics featuring prominent French producer DJ Oil and Hope Masike on the 27th of April 2015 and it is available for pre-order worldwide for purchase online via iTunes.

The record deal is a scoop by the Monkey Nuts as their music label BBE have major UK and US hip hop players signed to their label such as iconic group, the Pharcyde, and popular rapper J Dilla. BBE were also the record label behind Will.I.am’s first single.

The launch is happening in the Hivos Poetry Lab at HIFA. This year’s HIFA poetry and stand-up comedy program is produced in partnership with Shoko Festival. The Spoken word program includes a stellar poetry line-up with poets from Zimbabwe, the UK, South Africa and Botswana.
