Tajamuka, a local pressure group has announced its plans to stage another mass stay-away against government’s failed economic policies..
Addressing members of the media, Hardlife Mudzingwa who is part of the group’s coordinating committee said the shutdown which is scheduled for the 31st of August, is inspired by government policies which he described as anti people.
“Guided by citizens demand for reduced police road blocks, payment of civil servants salaries and bonuses on time, flexible people centred import policies that respect the SADC protocol on regional trade, an end to police brutality, solutions to the cash crisis anchored on sound monetary policy outside the bond notes agenda…. We on behalf of the campaign announce a national shutdown on 31 August,” said Mudzingwa.
He said the national shutdown is a correct footing into the red zone of the campaign.
“We have seen the satanic face of the government, we have witnessed complacency to amend SI 64 of 2016. Citizens have been victims of Zanu PF attempts to instil fear, criminalise lawful protests granted by High Court of Zimbabwe,”Mudzingwa said.
