Upcoming gospel artist, Willard Muzaeni has urged people to embrace and appreciate gospel music for personal and spiritual growth.
Speaking to 263chat on the sidelines of his third album launch, the youthful and talented gospel singer said gospel music is important in the day to day lives of people as it can soothe their souls and help them conquer challenges that come their way.
He said “it is important that people embrace gospel music. Unlike other genres, this type of music speaks directly to the listener and helps them to tackle daily challenges. It draws you closer to God,”
Muzaeni was launching his third offering on the music scene titled Nhaka Yekukunda which also coincided with the launch of a DVD album titled Rumuko.
He added that his music a blend of various genres thereby making it appealing to people from across social divides.
“My music is different from the conventional gospel that we are used to. Mine is a blend of different genres and it cuts across all age groups that makes me very different,” he said
The nine track album is rich with lyrics that motivates and uplifts one’s spirit.
Songs like Famba Neni, which is a plea to God to accompany his people wherever they go and Hapana which talks about nothing that can virtually separate God from his people are some of the tracks to look out for.
Not to outdone are songs like I believe, Ndiri Mukundi and Sirivia which he features Dr Tawanda.
Muzaeni hopes his time has finally arrived and is aiming nothing short of glory in the economically crippled industry but for the soft spoken musician, money is not a drawback to his mission of preaching the gospel through music.
The launch was graced by Minister Michael Mahendere who serenaded with his hit songs amongst them, the fans’ favorite, Makanaka Jesu.
