Delta Beverages on Friday renewed their commitment to Zimbabwe football after signing a new and improved three year sponsorship worthy over US$5 million, coinciding with silver jubilee celebrations since the Premier Soccer League was revolutionized.

The improved league sponsorship coincided with the launch of the Castle Lager Cup to start a week after the end of the season which will feature league winner and Chibuku cup winners.
The Castle Lager cup will be sponsored to the tune of $50 000 with the winner taking US$30 000 while losing finalist taking $20 000.
Speaking at the launch of the new sponsorship, Delta, Marketing Director, Maxwell Karombo said the giant beer manufacturers have been working with the Premier soccer league for the past six years enabling football fans and their customers outside big cities to see final matches like the one which was played in Mhondoro.
“The renewal of the sponsorship for the next three years will provide structures and professional league administration, guarantee prize money to clubs at the end of the season as a reward for attaining their respective positions on the log.
“It will also honor players, coaches and referees who excel above their peers during the season.
“The league will have $700,000 per season and the Chibuku cup is now worth $400,000 per season,” said Karombo.
Acting PSL Chairman, Kenny Mubaiwa applauded Delta Beverages for sponsoring the league saying his organisation is going to upgrade standards of the local league.
“We are aiming to win the silver jubilee league title and with the good team we have, we are going to make it happen,” said Mubaiwa in reference Dynamos.
City rivals Caps United President, Farai Jere who also attended the launch vouched for his team saying as the best team in the country, Makepekepe will do everything to take every trophy this season starting with their Boso game on Saturday.
