Organizers of the much hyped launch of multi-award winning Zim-Dancehall chanter ,Winky D’s 11th album, titled Gombwe, say all is in place for the big day, which will coincide with the Big Man’s 35th birthday celebrations.
The show’s promoter ,2 Kings’ told 263Chat that despite the “January disease” ticket sale for the show are going on well, showing signs of an exciting show on Friday at the Harare International Conference Center.
“Winky D ‘s fans are buying tickets at a pulsating rate despite it being January, where many people will be facing financial problems. At this rate, we are likely to surpass our expected crowd.
“We have sold more than 2000 tickets and many cooperates are coming on board to support the launch” said Dee Nosh, 2Kings’ spokesperson.
The Musarove Big Man hit maker is expected to release his 11th offering after subjecting his fans to more than a year’s wait.
His last offering, Gafa Futi, released in 2016, was well received with songs like 25, Gafa Party and Extra Terrestrial ,topping the charts.
Meanwhile, Winky D’s manager,Jonathan Banda has called for the Gafa fans to come and witness history being made.
He said a lot f surprise acts are also lined for the day.
“We want to deliver what our fans are expecting and we have collaborations with different artists whom we can not mention now as we want to keep it as a surprise,” said Banda.
