Selmor In Dramatic U-turn, Set To Perform At Tuku Memorial Concert

Daughter to the late music legend Dr Oliver Mtukudzi, Selmor, has been included on the star-studded lineup of artists that are set to perform at the inaugural Tuku Memorial Concert scheduled for 27 September at Glamis Arena in the capital, Harare.

It was a moment of shock for most music lovers to see Selmor excluded on the initial Tuku Memorial poster that was released in June.

“We are not available on that date. We are booked elsewhere, we won’t be in the country,” had said Selmor’s elder sister and manager, Sandra, in an interview with a local newspaper.

However, speaking to 263chat, Sandra said they were now available for the memorial concert because of the cancellation of their booking over xenophobic attacks in South Africa

“We were going to be in South Africa but due to xenophobic attacks, we moved our show to a later date. And what is best to do is to be at our father’s memorial show,” she said.

Selmor was slated to perform in Capetown on the same night of her father’s memorial concert.

The gig will be graced by South African music outfit, Micasa among a host of local talent that includes Winky D, Jah Prayzah and Alick Macheso.
