The hip hop industry is seemingly unstoppable as it continues to churn out new artists everyday. Born and raised in Mufakose, the 21 year old rap artist, Rolexx, real name Ronald Takuva is set out to take over the world of hip hop by storm.

His first unofficial record titled ‘my life’ was done in 2013 though he had already started doing music in 2012. He then roped in fast rising producer, Tinashe Mungoshi a.k.a Tash Van Manhize, of Kalisha Music Entertainment to work on his debut project, ‘Hood Sanctified.’
“ I have been doing singles all this time which I have since compiled into my first album called Hood Sanctified. My music talks about everyday life in the streets and in the society that we live in. We started recording this album two years ago and now l know it is complete and ready for the market,” he said
The just released album has six tracks that include Misodzi, which he believes is his best track. It is one track that touches on one’s soul and it really did bring me close to tears listening to it. Other tracks are toast to a good life, kaghetto life, girls, kumufombi and bang it louder.
“ I do hip hop because that is me, that is what l do best. I have perfect lyrics because l believe in perfection. I also go a little over the edge with my songs which l believe to be relative to situations. I also believe my songs are completely different form others because it is music with a message. I make clean music that a child any age can listen to and it is not offensive,” said Rolexx
This is so because we have had issues of artists, especially in the dancehall and hip hop circles having lyrics that are not good for the ears or morally acceptable because they think those lyrics sell.
The youthful musician still stays at home with his parents in his ghetto place of Mufakose, where he says is the place that inspired him to take up music seriously and be where he is today.
