With two rounds of matches still to be played in the local league, the Premier Soccer League (PSL) has postponed all Castle Lager matches that have been scheduled for the weekend.
The last two rounds of matches will now be played on Tuesday 10 December and Sunday 15 December respectively.
According to PSL, the move to postpone weekend matches has been necessitated by the fact that champions FC Platinum will be playing in the Champions League, hence they decided to [postpone all other matches so that the remaining fixtures can be played at the same time.
“The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Match days 33 and 34 fixtures shall be played from Tuesday 10 December 2019 to Sunday 15 December 2019,” the PSL said in a statement.
However, football followers sympathized with log leaders Caps United who will not be active ahead of a tightly contested fight for top honours.
The log leaders last played a competitive match when they played city rivals Dynamos in which they triumphed 1-0 courtesy of a Newman Sianchali solitary strike.
This weekend, all league matches were suspended to pave way for the Chibuku Super Cup final between Bulawayo giants Highlanders and Ngezi Platinum FC which Bosso won via a Prince Dube solitary strike as well.
This means that league action will resume after two weeks of being in active.
Football fans would be looking forward to see the battle between Caps United who are on 58 points and FC Platinum on 56 going to the wire while the relegation matrix will also be on the spotlight as well. So far Mushowani Stars and Hwange FC seem to be heading to the world of unfashionable Division One while two more teams have to join them in the relegation mix.
