President Robert Mugabe has appointed new minister and deputy ministers in a cabinet reshuffle announced this afternoon.
Among the newcomers are deputy ministers Edgar Mbwembwe (Foreign Affairs); Obedingwa Mguni (Home Affairs); Berita Chikwama (Lands and Rural Resettlement); Chris Chingosho (Local Government, Public Works and National Housing); Michael Madanhi (Transport); Aldrin Masiiwa (Health and Child Care); Thokozile Mathuthu (Media); Tshinga Dube (War Veterans); Annastacia Ndhlovu (Tourism and Hospitality Industry) and Tapiwanashe Matangaidze (Public Service).
The new ministers are Cdes Patrick Zhuwao (Youth); Abednico Ncube (Rural Development and Preservation of National Heritage); Joram Gumbo (Transport) and Makhosini Hlongwane (Minister without Portfolio).
Cde Christopher Mushohwe has also been moved from Youth to be minister of Media, Information and Broadcasting Services. He takes over from Cde Prisca Mupfumira who was in an acting capacity following the reshuffle that saw Professor Jonathan Moyo being moved to Higher and Tertiary Education.
The new minister of Economic Planning is Cde Obert Mpofu, who will be deputised by Cde Monica Mutsvangwa, former Media deputy minister.
