President Mugabe reassigns Permanent secretaries

President Robert Mugabe has reassigned permanent secretaries to various ministries with immediate effect. The president also appointed some senior government officials to permanent secretary positions.

Dr Thokozile Chitepo has been moved to the ministry of tourism from Rural Development and has been replaced by George Magosvongwe who has been moved from the ministry of youth.  Dr Desire Sibanda has been moved to the ministry of youth while Dr Judith Kateera becomes the new Permanent Secretary of Macro-Economic Planning and Investment.

Sibusisiwe Zembe has been appointed secretary of women affairs, Munesushe Munodawafa is now permanent secretary of mines, while Dr Machivenyika Mapuranga replaces him at the ministry of transport. Professor Francis Gudyanga becomes the new secretary for higher education.

Dr Perpetua Gumbo has been reassigned to accounting officer for the Public Service Commission and Dr Godfrey Chipare who was permanent secretary in the ministry of sport and recreation is now secretary in the Public service commission and has also been seconded to the Zimbabwe Defence University as a lecturer.

The appointments and reassignments were announced by Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr Misheck Sibanda in line with Section 205 (1) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe as read together with Section 28 of the Interpretation Act. zifmnews.com
