Local football fans are in for a treat when the screen is raised for the Chibuku Super quarter finals on the 17 and 18 of September following today’s draw in the capital, Harare which yielded some mouthwatering fixtures.
Of the eight teams paired, seven are currently in the top 8 of the Castle Lager Premiership table with the exception of Bulawayo City FC who are currently ranked 10th.
Traditional giants avoided collision in the early rounds of the tournament as it returned to traditional knock-out format with the top 14 teams automatically qualifying for the first round draw.
Despite being the lowest ranked team left, Bulawayo Chiefs will clash with city rivals Highlanders -which should be a potentially explosive Bulawayo derby.
But to headline this round of fixtures will be the clash of the top 2 ranked teams on the premiership table, FC Platinum and Dynamos who will face each other in search for a semifinal spot.
FC Platinum currently leading the PSL table are defending the title after the won the 2021 edition of the Chibuku Super Cup.
Herentals who are fifth of the table will play against Manica Diamonds who are fourth placed while Black Rhinos who are seventh have a date with Chicken Inn who are third placed.
