Despite his side outclassing new boys, Herentals Football Club two nil, Ngezi Platinum stars coach, Tonderayi Ndiraya was unimpressed about his side’s match fitness levels which he said was not impressive.
In an interview with 263Chat after the match, Ndiraya said the result was pleasing though he was worried about their match fitness.
“I am a happy man after 90 mins because we had the result we wanted but not impressed with the players match fitness, but every team in the world can experience it but we are going to work hard to perfect our game.
“I want to give credit to Herentals for a good performance, for a side which had just been promoted and they gave us a good run because they managed to disturb our plans of having an early goal.
“We were careless in the first half, we did not manage to keep the ball and need to be patient because we knew that they will defend as an away team,” said Ndiraya.
The match at Baobab was not without history as the Premier Soccer League witnessed a 45 year old player in Herentals FC striker, Innocent Benza who played for 70 minutes before being substituted.
“Benza plays as my second striker, my first choice is Blessing Majarira.
“He is a hard worker, he comes for training and you can see it with his passes,” said Herentals coach, Kumbirai Mutiwekuziva.
