Pastor Evan Mawarire, leader of #thisflag movement was yesterday summoned for questioning today by Criminal Investigations Department.
Speaking in one of his videos uploaded yesterday, Pastor Mawarire said he was called in to answer questions relating to his call for stay-aways.
“Fellow citizens, I have been called in by the CID for questioning and I’m sure it is in relation to what we have been fighting for, which is total emancipation of all Zimbabweans.
“In the event that I get arrest, please keep the fight and keep pushing for justice and an end to corruption. Do not despair , remain vigilant,” said Pastor Mawarire who became popular after starting a twitter campaign code going by the name #thisflag in which he advocates for an end of corruption and government misrule.
However, the clergyman urged citizens to desist from violent protests which he said defeat the whole purpose of stay-aways.
Mawaririe, who was behind the massive stay-away that rocked the country last week is also calling for another two day stay-away on Wednesday and Thursday this week.
