Leading financial service group, Old Mutual Zimbabwe has launched a fully-fledged funeral service to offer a one stop service and enhanced customers’ benefits as it makes inroads into the funeral service market.
The enhanced Old Mutual Flexi Funeral Plan launch was well complemented with pomp and fanfare at Harare’s Africa Unit Square.
The group said the service comes on the back of customers call for a tangible funeral services to add on cash benefits that the service was offering.
These include services like water bowsers, nationwide bus service and family courtesy vehicle. Interestingly, the family courtesy vehicle is a first in the local funeral services sector which caters for transportation of bereaved family members during the process of making funeral arrangements.
“At Old Mutual, we believe in being our customers’ lifetime partners, right from when they start budgeting or investing up to celebrating life with a dignified send-off,” said Old Mutual Group Chief Executive Officer, Samuel Matsekete.
Currently, the funeral service has a total of 3 branches thus, 2 in Bulawayo and 1 in Harare with 3 more expected to be established end of this year.
The Old Mutual Flexi Funeral policy has individual plans tailor-made for diverse budgets with packages ranging from Lite, Classic, Premium and Supreme.
“Our experienced, professional and empathetic staff will ensure that every customer receives a personalised service to ease their burden,” Rutendo Magorimbo, managing director of Old Mutual Life Assurance said.
Every package comes with a standard cash-pay where a minimum of US$ 250 up to US$ 1 000 is paid out with premiums as little as US$3 per month. There is a 100 percent of cash in lieu, where a claim is paid in cash if the beneficiary’s funeral was covered by another funeral policy.
In addition, the plan offers free cover for biological children under the age of 18 and no waiting period if one migrates from another funeral policy.
