High riding sungura singer Mark Ngwazi showed why he is being mentioned in the same sentence with sungura ace Alick Macheso after serenading fans at Mazowe Heroes Celebrations over the weekend.
The pint sized musician wowed the crowd with his latest album. Songs that proved to be popular with imbibers include Nyaradzo Yababa and Hwahwa.
He also took music lovers down memory lane as he sang songs from fallen legends such as John Chibadura, System Tazvida and Leornard Dembo.
Ngwazi hailed businessman Tafadzwa Musarara for promoting local artistes.
“He is a man of means. He could have easily hired foreign bands but he saw it fit to support us and for that I am equally grateful,” he said.
For his party, Ngwazi did not disappoint putting up a spirited performance to entertain people.
Maverick businessman who is also Zanu PF Mazowe District Chairperson Tafadzwa Musarara promised to deliver 100 000 votes for President Emmerson Mnangagwa as the presidential race continues to boil up before 2023 elections.
“I am focusing on delivering 100 000 votes for my president in the upcoming general elections. Mashonaland Central has always been a Zanu PF stronghold and a province we should unite to deliver an emphatic victory for our president,” he said.
Zanu PF supporters who have gathered for Heroes Day Celebrations at Nzvimbo Growth Point said Musarara was ever present in the district mobilising support for the ruling party.
“He is our son here. He has been working tirelessly for the party and is loved. He has been spearheading development and we are happy with him,” said war vet Kumbirai Gweshe.
