The country’s biggest all-encompassing music awards, Zimbabwe Music Awards (ZIMA) has announced its return from a hiatus with the sixteenth edition of celebrating musical excellence and creativity, providing a high profile, multi-faceted and rich cultural diversity of Zimbabwean music set for 25 January 2020.
Addressing the media in the capital earlier this week, ZIMA chief executive officer, Reason Sibanda indicated that the ZIMA2020 will be business unusual.
“The Zimbabwe Music Awards 2020 edition dubbed ‘ZIMA2020’ is business unusual – through new partnerships, new sounds, new genres, new categories, new expertise and new passions,” said Sibanda.
This edition will boast of up to 32 awards expected to be dished out on the night.
Entries will be opened on November 11 to December 31, 2019 with nominees set to be announced on 11 January, 2020.
