NERA Savages Govt Over BVR Kit Procurement Takeover

A consortium of opposition political parties under the banner of National Electoral Reform Agenda have called on the government of Zimbabwe to stop interfering with Biometric Voter Registration process threatening to take to the streets if their call is not heeded.

Addressing a press conference in Harare on Tuesday, different opposition political leaders under the banner of NERA vowed never to let Zanu PF take control of BVR kits procurement process saying the move is the ruling party’s plan to rig elections as they have always done in the past.

Renewal Democrats of Zimbabwe, Elton Mangoma said the move by government is clearly aimed at rigging elections, “Zanu has stolen elections and they want to do it again by controlling the BVR procurement, we as NERA will never allow that and will never sit back and watch them, ZANU, stealing from us again.

“We refuse Zanu masquerading as the referee, be in charge of everything. This country is not owned by Zanu but it is for every citizen that is why we are saying there is going to be a serious fight.”

Mangoma added that NERA is ready to go into the street to demonstrate if the government does not distance itself from BVR process.
