President Emmerson Mnangagwa has declared the first Friday of each calendar month as the National Clean Up day in a move he said is aimed at creating a clean, safe and healthy environment.
In a statement released today, Mnangagwa said the move has been necessitated by the need to create a clean, safe and healthy environment.
“In the spirit of creating a clean, safe and healthy environment, it shall be the duty of every individual, corporate body, community and institution to clean up their surrounding areas, places of work, religion, education, recreational and residential premises, vending sites, car parks and road servitudes,” said Mnangagwa.
According to Mnangagwa, the clean-up exercise shall be undertaken from 0800hrs to 1000hrs on the first Friday of each month.
