Mutare City Rovers’ Grand Survival Plan Revealed

The newly promoted premiership side, Mutare City Rovers have set sight on collecting maximum points in their first four fixtures to determine their survival in the country’s topflight league.

Made up of players without premier league experience, Mutare City will bank on the services of the likes of former Ngezi Platinum striker, Washington Pakamisa, former Dynamos Defender, Themba Ndlovu and Takunda Sadiki but reckons it will be a mountain climb for them to compete against big boys.

In an interview with 263Chat, Mutare City coach, Joseph ‘Shaba’ Takaringofa said his team was reacting well to his strategy though he believes their momentum rests on how they fare in their first four fixtures.

“Our first four games are important is boosting our confidence going into the season.

“The boys have been reacting well to our training strategy, we played a lot of friendly games to assess their readiness and have worked on some of the weaknesses,” said Takaringofa

Mutare City Rovers are making a return to the to the top flight football after having been relegated in 2016.

The 2018 Premier Soccer League kicks off this weekend with Mutare City kicking off their top flight league with an away match against Nichrut FC followed by Chapungu at home. Their third fixture will be in Bulawayo against 2015 champions Chicken Inn before facing Harare City at home.
