Munch Zimbabwe, a web-based platform and mobile application that allows people to search for their favorite restaurant and make payments is eyeing expansion into the resort town of Victoria Falls.
Chief Executive Officer of the start up company, Tatenda Jakarasi said they identified Victoria Falls because of growth prospects as well as filling a gap as most restaurants do not do deliveries.
Munch Zimbabwe currently delivers for Little Monkey and Shearwater Cafe among other restaurants in Harare.
“We are delighted to have a presence in Victoria Falls. The city is poised for tremendous commercial growth and it was important for us to bridge the gap between customers and restaurants; the majority of which don’t do any deliveries. We’ll be adding more restaurants in the coming weeks,” said Jakarasi.
Since its launch last year, Munch Zimbabwe has made ordering food convenient for its customers giving them the option to order through the app, place orders through the website getmunched.com or via their Facebook page, Munch Zimbabwe.
Once an order has been made via Ecocash, Zipit or point of sale machines, the restaurant prepares food which customers can either collect in person or is delivered.
“Once an order has been made through the app, Munch drivers will pick the food up from the restaurant and deliver it to the customer. Customers can also place orders in advance for pickup,” noted the company.
Munch is the only food delivery app in Zimbabwe, operating daily from 10am to 8pm and has gone on to partner with 50 restaurants in Harare.
