Multmedia: Stay in your lane, Mujuru told

Police Spokesperson, Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba warned Zimbabwe People First leader, Joice Mujuru that she should not interfere with police business.

This comes after Mujuru quoted an article in one of the online publications which was denouncing the authority of the police.

“We believe the document was written by police detractors to imply that the ZRP is supporting demonstrators.

“The contents of this fake and false document should be dismissed with the contempt it deserves. The people First leader had the audacity to quote the publication in reference to the Commissioner General of Police. She should stick to her core business and not quote stories without verifying from the Police,” said Charamba.

She said Mujuru should know better that social media is subject to manipulation and abuse by people pursuing various agendas.

Charamba had no kind words for the online publication which she said was in the habit of fabricating stories.

In one of the articles, the publication alleged that Commissioner General of Police has addressed junior officers prior to the country’s shutdown on Wednesday.

“Never has the Commissioner General of Police communicated officials through the social media or online publications.

In any case he does not address junior officers since there are commanders at different levels in the organization,” she said.
