Former President Robert Mugabe’s body lay in state at Rufaro Stadium for public viewing where thousands of Zimbabweans bade farewell to the liberation war icon who passed on in Singapore last Friday aged 95.
During the first day of the public body viewing, several people paid homage to Mugabe for taking Zimbabwe from the colonial rule to an independent state and further empowering the millions of Zimbabweans.
Some said Mugabe’s legacy got tainted when he resorted to violence to thwart opposition party supporters especially during the land reform process and the 2008 elections.
