Finance and Economic Development Minister, Professor Mtuli Ncube, who accompanied President Emmerson Mnangagwa, at the just ended UN General Assembly in New York, came back empty handed as America emphasizes on reforms.
Speaking in an interview with 263Chat Professor Ncube said they are working towards the Zimbabwe Democracy and Economic Recovery Act ( ZIDERA) so that the country have a successful arrears clearance program.
“They are supporting, but we know that we have got issues like ZIDERA, so we have to work on those issues and try to make sure that we come out of them so that we have a successful arrears clearance program,” Ncube said.
Relations between Harare and Washington turned sour during the former President Robert Mugabe’s era, however, with the coming in of the President Mnangagwa there was hope America could soften its stance but it has further tightened screws on Zimbabwe.
