Members of the #Tajamuka, a pressure group pressing government to revive the economy, vowed that more stay-aways and demonstrations will be staged if government does not address the concerns of the citizens.
Addressing journalists on the aftermaths of a massive stay away staged on Wednesday, Tajamuka Spokesperson, Promise Mkwananzi said more stay-aways were on the way.
“After the success of yesterday’s stay-away, we are now saying there is no going back on pressing this regime so that it listens to our concerns.

“Stepping back means we would have lost our agenda. We have the power to make our concerns be heard and be addressed,” said Mkwananzi while adding that the stay away was a success as it shook the corridors of power.
The former Zimbabwe National Students’ Union (ZINASU) president presented demands which he said President Mugabe should meet before 31 August without fail.
One of the demands stipulate that president Mugabe should make a statement with regards to the current crisis in the country and enlighten the nation how government intends to bring sanity.
“We also demand the immediate release of citizens who were unlawfully arrested for demonstrating in Beitbridge. It is their constitutional right to be demonstrating whenever they feel something is wrong, so there was no jurisdiction to arrest them. They should be released,” said Mkwananzi.
Mkwananzi said civil servants must be paid in full and government must reverse the recently imposed import ban until the economy has stabilized.
“We are also demanding that there be electoral reforms and a new, electronic voter’s role because we believe under the current voters role we can never have a free and fair election, We will not accept irregular elections,” said the youthful activist.
Zimbabweans from across the political divide yesterday united in a massive stay away demanding better service delivery from government.
Meanwhile, some civic society groups were planning to storm the State House, tomorrow.
