Pro-democracy activist and Tajamuka-Sesijikile spokesperson, Promise Mkwananzi, was yesterday freed on bail by the High Court after spending close to one month in prison.
Mkwananzi was arrested by the police over allegations of malicious damage to property.
According to the police the Tajamuka spokesperson was among a group of activists who set ablaze two vehicles during a demonstration which took place in Harare last month .
Judge Justice Zhou granted $100 bail for Mkwananzi who has been in remand for nearly three weeks since his arrest.
As part of the bail conditions, Judge Zhou ordered Mkwananzi to report to CID law and order department every Friday, to surrender his travelling documents, to stay at the given residential address and not to interfere with the state witnesses until his case is finalised.
